Dr. Anna Tenorio is Board Certified in Family and Community Medicine and Board Certified in Hospice and Palliative Care Medicine. She completed medical school studies in the Philippines, at the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center. She was accepted in the Family Medicine Residency program at University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX, and was one of the Chief Residents in her class. After which, she completed her Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship training at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. She also worked as an Urgent Care Physician while in the said Fellowship program, in order to maintain her knowledge and experience in Primary Care.
After completing her Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship, Dr. Tenorio accepted a position to become an attending physician and faculty at Houston Methodist Hospital at the Texas Medical Center in the Internal Medicine and Palliative Care Department. She helped patients and families go through difficult times during their hospitalization.
She helped guide them through their medical journey by doing goals of care discussions and providing symptom and pain management to those who had chronic medical conditions. She also taught residents, medical students, and fellows during her practice at Methodist. Dr. Tenorio eventually left Methodist after a few years to pursue a career more focused on primary care, geriatrics and palliative care. She is currently part of the Trumen Physician + Associates group and is currently managing and treating patients in facilities in the post-acute care setting.
Given her huge interest in continuing outpatient primary care and palliative care, Dr. Tenorio has established her own practice to do telemedicine, house calls and eventually, office visits. She has always had that fervent desire to reach out to the community and be able to help more patients in need of more focused and personal care. AppleMD Medical Services, PLLC was created because of her eagerness to help more people.
